Radically Loving, growing together in Christ
Radically loving – We seek to live out the words of Jesus – that people will know us by our love. This kind of love meets people where they are. As Christ followers we seek to remove the barriers people have to experiencing the grace of God. We desire to bring justice where there is suffering, to bring hope where there is despair, to bring truth where there are lies, to bring the Kingdom of Christ where people live in darkness.
Growing together in Christ – We believe that grace is the catalyst to spiritual growth. The love of Jesus accepts people where they are and the Holy Spirit inspires them to become like Christ. We are all on a path towards maturity and devotion to Jesus and desire to grow as a follower of Jesus in community with other believers, as He designed. We don’t just “go to church”, we are the Church.
Biblical – We base all of our beliefs and teaching on God’s word. As a result, our pursuit is to grow in Christ-likeness as we learn from our study of the Word.
(Ps 119; Acts 11:17; Hebrews 4:12; John 17:17; Ephesians 5:25-27; 2 Timothy 3:14-17)
Accepting – We love people as they are. We naturally and intentionally build friendships to share Christ and we relate to one another with grace and love.
(John 8:3-11; Matthew 9:9-13; Mark 12:30-31; 2 Peter 3:9)
Authentic – We admit we are imperfect people. We are trying to become more honest about our struggles, failures and our hearts. We do this in light of Christ’s love and the Holy Spirit’s work to change us.
(1 John 1:6-9)
Kingdom Advancing – Our heart is bigger than our one expression of the local church. As a result we plant churches, develop leaders, help other churches, bring justice, befriend the lonely, work for peace, and care for the poor.
(Acts 2; Matthew 28:19-20)
Ministering Community – We believe God gives spiritual gifts to every Christ follower and seek to discover, develop and use these gifts in relationship with others both inside and outside the church.
(Ephesians 4:11-16; 1 Corinthians 12 and 14; Romans 12)
Intimacy with God – We desire relationship with God and seek Him first through prayer, study, worship and reflection. We believe all effective ministry flows out of abiding with Christ and depending on the Holy Spirit.
(Psalm 16:8; John 15 and 17; Acts 4:13)
Creative – We do whatever it takes to reach our community with the love of Christ. Without compromising our biblical message, we will seek to reach out to people in the language of their lives. We will look for new and creative ways (that reflect God’s character) to let people know they matter to God.
(Genesis 6-7; Exodus 1-12; Judges 6; John 1:14)
