Small Group Grants
This year we gave our small groups the opportunity to live out the mission of the church of radically loving people by giving them the opportunity to come up with a way to serve the community and providing them with money and the resources to do it. The following projects were selected to receive a grant.
- The purchase of new tools will allow God’s Guys to assist needy and low-income families with home improvement projects.
- Several men are replacing the roof and insulating the home of single Mom.
- Purchase winter clothing to hand out a Gleaner’s. Adults and children will serve side-by-side on this project.
- Sew 300 sleeping bags and 500 blankets to be distributed in the community.
- Make and hand out sack lunches and hot chocolate to homeless. This project provide another opportunity for adults and children to serve side-by-side.
- Start a community garden to supply fresh produce to our food pantry. Sections will be sponsored by different groups and produce speciality items such as Salsa and Strawberry Jam.
- With help from Angel Food Ministries, twenty low-income families will be taught how to stretch their food and money to last longer. Each family will also be supplied with a week’s worth of groceries.
